Media coverage of Positive Money
Print and digital
Our calls for a windfall tax on record bank profits have featured extensively in the press, in The Mirror (1, 2, 3), The Guardian (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), City AM (1, 2), The Observer, The Independent (1, 2), Bloomberg, GB News, BBC, Sky News, The Times (1, 2, 3, 4) - many of those in print as well as digital.
We’ve also had an op-ed on the issue from our Co-Executive Director, Sara Hall, in LabourList and a letter from our Head of Policy and Advocacy, Simon Youel, in The Banker, both rebutting the arguments bank CEOs have been making against a windfall tax.
Our work on green central banking in East and Southeast Asia has had 25 media hits in nine countries over this period, in both English and local-language outlets, across print and digital.
Other commentary and research featured in The Guardian, Politico’s Finance Pro newsletter, Politico’s London Playbook newsletter, and The Times.
Broadcast
We were mentioned on the BBC’s Today Programme in relation to our windfall tax figures, which our Head of Campaigns and Communications, Hannah Dewhirst, cited on LBC and on the podcast Changing the Narrative. Sara also used an interview on LBC News to promote the campaign.
Hannah also went on LBC to make the case for more public investment via the National Wealth Fund.
