Produced in partnership with Future Narratives Lab, this guide builds upon our report Beyond Dollar Dominance (2024), and is intended as an initial prototype, to lay the groundwork for future narrative development on issues around dollar dominance.

It draws on a workshop held in January 2026, which brought 18 attendees from a cohort of 14 organisations together, to develop ideas and strategy for building power around this issue, to contribute to the support and amplification of Global South-led efforts. Read more about the workshop here.

This guide is intended for

➔ Spokespeople preparing for media appearances where they might be asked to talk about issues related to US economic dependency, the dollar, sanctions and tariffs, or international currency arrangements.

➔ Global North NGOs such as think tanks, charities, campaign groups, trade unions, and other organisations, who work on topics and issues shaped by the current international monetary and financial system and the dominance of the US dollar. These include inequality, debt, trade, development, financial reform, climate finance and green colonialism, food and energy prices, and the cost of living.

We gratefully acknowledge the support and funding of the Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation in making this guide possible.
