Senior Researcher
Positive Money is a leading international progressive research and campaigns organisation seeking to reform the money and banking system. We produce ground-breaking research and policy proposals, inform the public and politicians, regularly appear in the media, and mobilise the public behind people-powered campaigns. We believe in radical systems change, and we work across three key areas: democratising money and banking, a green and fair European Central Bank (ECB), and financing the just transition in Europe.
We are recruiting for a Senior Researcher to support our research team during the period that our head of research is on maternity leave, with the possibility of an extension after one year. The role will focus on producing proactive and reactive research, both in-house and through collaboration with external partners. The topics will focus on the role that monetary policy, in coordination with fiscal policy and financial regulation, can play in an economic system of social justice and a liveable planet. . Contract: The role is for a maternity cover with a determinate 1-year contract (Belgian “contrat à durée déterminée”. The researcher will be hired ideally as soon as possible but we can be flexible for the right candidate. The possible renewal of the contract or change into permanent contract will be subject to performance and funding. We are open to freelancers and contractors applications from Belgium or outside of Belgium, on the condition of regular travel to Brussels.
Salary: €41,280 gross annual salary for part-time 80% (paid over 12.92 months). Automatic indexation of gross salary to account for inflation.

Location: Flexible between working in our Brussels office (Square Ambiorix 10, 1000, Brussels) and working from home in Belgium or from abroad in the European Union.
Hours: Part time (30.4 hours). We will consider flexible working requests.
