Email your MP – Now is our chance to get a Money Commission set up by Parliament
Last year I reported about the Bank of England Bill, which is passing through Parliament. This bill provides us with a unique opportunity.
It is a chance to turn the attention of politicians to the broken money system – and make our campaign for a Money Commission heard.
Today, I have some very exciting news.
The bill is about to go to report stage and Douglas Carswell MP has agreed to table an amendment calling for a Money Commission to be set up. If this amendment is debated, and MPs vote to include it in the bill, a commission will be set up.
To make sure this happens, we need as many MPs as possible to support the amendment. This is an incredible development, but we have a lot of work to do.
Will you email your MP and ask them to support the amendment?
Please note: You can only send an email to your MP if you are based in the UK.
If you do not live in the UK, please share this with your friends who live there – and share this on Facebook!
Our money system has not been examined since the 1930s. Politicians still do not realise that money creation by private banks was a key factor in bringing about the last financial crisis. This needs to change.
Whilst the money system remains unchanged, it will continue to drive inequality, blow up house price bubbles, and cause financial crises. A Money Commission is a critical next step to bring about a money and banking system that works for society – not against it.
I believe if enough of us act, a commission will be set up.
Thanks to generous donations from people like you we are able to launch this campaign and make it easy for you to email your MP.
Thank you so much for your continued support!
