Positive Money on the news

by Nonhlanhla Makuyana

Positive Money’s Director Fran Boait was on the news discussing the so-called ‘Brexit dividend’ funding boost for the NHS, alongside the Daily Mail’s Deputy Political Editor, John Stevens, on Sky News.

In the interview, Fran questions Theresa May’s conflicting claims that there is no magic money money tree whilst also announcing a funding boost for the NHS for her PR needs. The ideology of austerity driven my May has misled the public into believing there’s been no money to properly fund the NHS, however the public is supposed to accept there is suddenly money to fund the NHS.

Instead of relying on an unlikely and illusory Brexit dividend, the Prime Minister should look to new tools such as QE for People to create funds to invest in vital public services like the NHS.

In the News, Options for Banking Reform, Others, Parliament & Legislation, Public Money Creation, QE for people / Helicopter money
