Do you know how money is created and gets into the economy?

A common answer to this question is no. However, understanding this process is vital to achieving stable prices, supporting economic growth, and reducing unemployment.

By providing an insight into the money creation process in the modern economy and the spectrum of ideas on how to improve upon it, Sascha Bützer gives a glimpse of what the future might look like:

With Master degrees from Simon Fraser University and the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, Sascha is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Munich. After starting his career at the European Central Bank, he has been working as an economist in the International Monetary Affairs Division at the Deutsche Bundesbank, primarily in an advisory role for the German executive director at the International Monetary Fund.

The presentation represents the author’s personal opinion and should not be reported as representing the views of the Deutsche Bundesbank or the Eurosystem.

This talk was given at a TEDx Göteborg event.
