We have extraordinarily good news today! Positive Money will be on BBC Radio 4 next Wednesday! We’ve raised most of the funds necessary to employ new Campaign Manager and we have some excellent applications. And it doesn’t end here: The new book is coming… Now we’re on the verge of making a much bigger impact.
1) Positive Money on BBC Radio 4
Next Wednesday, October 24th at 8.45 pm make sure to be tuned to BBC Radio 4 with all your family and do tell all your friends 🙂
Ben Dyson, the founder of Positive Money will be talking on the BBC’s Four Thought program about the fundamental flaws in our banking system. This is a big and exciting news since the BBC and other media have until now ignored this issue. Ben will be talking about the Positive Money campaign too. The talk will be available here as well.
2) Hiring the Campaign Manager
Two weeks ago we asked you to help us raise funds to employ a Campaign Manager. In the eleven days since we got in touch 84 of you have given £471 in new monthly donations and £2,251 in one-off donations. This means that together with the help of RH Southern Trust who have committed to double all these donations we have covered most of the salary. THANKS to all of you who helped in any way to date. We still have a little bit to go, so in case you are considering making a contribution, now is a good time. You can donate here.
The other good news is that we’ve received many applications from the candidates with some excellent experiences in marketing and campaigning. The interviews with the candidates will take place next week. There are some extraordinary good candidates, so the decision making is going to be tough.
3) New Book – Emergency Manual on How to fix the broken monetary system
We are excited to announce that the new book we’ve been working on is finished and will be released in the next couple of months! The title is: “Modernising Money – Why our monetary system is broken and how it can be fixed”. This book describes the current monetary system and the reform proposed by Positive Money in a comprehensive way. Explaining in detail the transition process, the implications and impacts it will have upon the economy and society.
The book is accessible to people without formal background in economics, it’s written for anyone who has an interest in money and banking and the impact it has on society. However, the book is also intended as a manual for the staff of central banks and regulators who are in need of fresh ideas on banking reform. Given that banking reforms to date have been superficial and have left the fundamental problems unchecked this ‘Emergency Manual’ might be necessary sooner rather than later.
Watch out for our next newsletter – we’ll have more information soon including how to preorder and get the book at discounted price.
