Screenings of "97% Owned" Documentary

97% Owned is a new documentary that reveals how money is at the root of our current social and economic crisis. Featuring frank interviews and commentary from economists, campaigners and former bankers, it exposes the privatised, debt-based monetary system that gives banks the power to create money, shape the economy, cause crises and push house prices out of reach. Fact-based and clearly explained, in just 60 minutes it shows how the power to create money is the piece of the puzzle that economists were missing when they failed to predict the crisis.

Screenings are being organised around the country:

Belfast, Thu 7th March

Cambridge University, Fri 8th March

Cambridge, Thu 21st March

You can organise a screening too…

If you like the documentary and you think more people should learn about how money is at the root of our current social and economic crisis, you can now organize a screening. It can be in an independent cinema or town hall, or if you are a member of transition town, occupy, quakers, other organisations… you can arrange one for the members.

Please don’t fall into the trap of being London centred- London isn’t England and England isn’t Britain- I’m impressed with the progress made by Positive money- especially as changing the system by which capital is managed would also solve many other issues. Why not establish a base outside of the SE  in places where the real effects of austerity is being felt. We live 100 mls from the nearest motorway-which is not the M25. Here buy to let-debt has killed off villages as second home investors have moved in and the local population is ghetoised into cheaper areas.

I can relate to your concerns, I live in Liverpool and there never seems to be anything in my area(or Manchester). But that is not positive moneys fault, I suppose they need people from these areas to volunteer, one day I may find time to contribute for my area.

If they keep growing I’m sure things will start to happen everywhere.
